Right, we headed half way with the car up hill (north of Rocha dos Campos), then took the circle trail on foot. Was a great trip, took many hours and we met only 2 groups of people. Most of the time we walked hours alone on the trail
In which season were you there ? I'm just back. The weather was very unstable. On the day I took this photo it was often cloudy (I waited ages to get enough sunshine to lit up most of the lake). It was also very windy (I heard that evening that many flights further in the West of the archipelago had been cancelled). Well, March is not the best month to visit the Azores, and certainly not the westernmost islands like Flores....!!! But the Azores are gorgeous, all the same !!
I was there last year beginn of November. So already out of seasen. Weather was changing constant, the south coast had alot of sunny days. But as soon as you go up the hills you got into the clouds. All over it wasn't the photographers dream, but good weather to hike! I have an azores folder in my gallery, there you can get impressions for the weather.
I'll visit the Azores again for sure, then maybe the western islands.
